2016, a new year...

Happy New Year, I say as I write you on January 31st. There are lots of things in store for our family this year, and I decided that I wanted to take a different approach to sharing them online. I've been on Facebook for several years now, and by 2016 Facebook has morphed into something altogether different... I'm not even sure how to put into words what is bothering me about it. But I decided to log on less often. I have kept my account to preserve, in a cloud type fashion, all of the pictures and content I have on my profile. I also use Messenger to communicate with many people, so I didn't want to compromise that. I think Facebook has become the laziest way to stay in touch with people, and perhaps the most impersonal way. I'd like to at least have more thoughtful sharing (like a blog, since I have to write in full sentences...) and more meaningful communication with my long distance friends and family. Also, this is an election year, and nothing makes my blood boil more than political posts on Facebook (I am at fault here as well!), and because I am pregnant, I would like to prevent my blood from boiling if I can help it.

So, here we are. YET ANOTHER blog attempt from me. I think the only blog that I managed to keep going for more than one or two posts was my Myspace blog. I'm not sure that counts. Anyway, I am going to keep trying until I get it right! One of the biggest challenges of blogging is writing content that anyone is interested in reading. I won't promise that I will do that, but I hope that maybe I won't be the only one reading this thing.
